linkstatus used to work but now it's been replaced by a bunch of wireless_link_* vars. Changing linkstatus to one of these vars now gives upon startup of conky:

Conky: unknown variable wireless_link_qual_perc

still a problem in conky-1.5.1?

nope, fixed with wifi use flag in 1.5.1
