I have gnome installed and tried to install kolourpaint with "emerge kde-base/kolourpaint" but the packages "net-misc/mDNSResponder-107.6-r5" and net-dns/avahi-0.6.20-r2 seem to depend on each other which causes the whole emerge process to block. Either remove USE=avahi from your use flags or unmerge net-misc/mDNSResponder
