media-sound/solfege-3.10.2 fails on access violations on my ~amd64 with these messages:

ACCESS DENIED  open_wr:   /usr/share/solfege/src/elembuilder.pyc
Sorry [Errno 13] Permission denied: '/usr/share/solfege/src/elembuilder.pyc'
Compiling /usr/share/solfege/src/example.py ...

1/ The bytecode doesn't belong to /usr/share
2/ python_mod_{optimize,cleanup} completely missing

Makefile.in has a check that when "nopycompile=YES" is set for "make" when installing it shouldn't get compiled, but it still did. I've worked this around in 
solfege-3.10.3.ebuild with a simple sed line in src_unpack.

So for now, we don't byte-compile, at all.

I'm mailing upstream to move .py's to libdir.. and closing this as RESOLVED, UPSTREAM
