I want to report a bug and followed Step 1 - Search for your bug. 
 
Whatever Text I put in the search field, it results in: 
The 'bug number' is invalid. It is neither a bug number nor an alias to a bug number. aso. 
 
Maybe I understood wrong, what I am asked to fill in, but in this case a better description could 
be helpful.

I got the same error when trying to search for a bug at step 1.  The browser is 
Konqueror 3.1.1. 
 
System assumes user filled a bug number, but obviously user is asked to fill in 
_keywords_, not a number, as following quote says: 
 
"Check the list of most-frequently-reported bugs below. If your bug isn't there, search 
Bugzilla by entering two or three of the main words having to do with your bug in this 
box. For example: pop3 mail or copy paste. "
