The new version of tw_cli has files in a subdir inside the archive.  Patching the tw_cli-9.4.1.2.ebuild as follows (to create tw_cli-9.4.2.ebuild) allows the new version to be installed:

heh. this was done a while ago when I got new 3ware gear at work to use.
