I have attached ebuild for anyremote application. With this application you may remotely control (bluetooth) your application via phone. It supports a quite lot of application mainly used on desktop. Reproducible: Always Expected Results: The ebuild added into portage tree. Tested on x86 platform only. It works fine, without any issue.

Of course the application also support connection via wifi, irda and much more. In the ebuild missing information that should say something like, that you should upload that jar into your mobile phone (but this may be automatize if you use kanyremote (KDE frontend), see related bug.

There is also KDE frontend see bug #209689.
I've been trying to get this in portage since 26/6/07 (see duplicate bug) Is there a gnome frontend too?
Yes, look at the application website. It is call ganyremote. I use only KDE, so I created ebuild only for KDE frontend.
Created attachment 143748 [details] anyremote-4.3.ebuild Slightly modified / updated ebuild for version 4.3.
An ebuild for ganyremote is now available : bug #210442
IMHO we should modify the anyremote ebuild to have useflags kde & gnome which will pull the respictive frontends ( like networkmanager does ).
Created attachment 143758 [details] anyremote-4.3-r1 (kde/gnome frontend dependency) Attached ebuild with kde/gnome frontend dependency.
Created attachment 146409 [details] anyremote-4.4 (kde/gnome frontend dependency) Took Jakub Stillers ebuild and made one with 4.4 attached, worked "out of the box".
4.6 is out =/

This ebuild can now be found on sunrise overlay kde, gnome flags were dropped for now until kanyremote and ganyremote be on sunrise too
Did someone try to use the latest (4.8.1) ebuild (http://overlays.gentoo.org/proj/sunrise/browser/sunrise/net-misc/anyremote/anyremote-4.8.1-r1.ebuild) with disabled the bluetooth use flag? It fails to compile here. I want to verify it before report to upstream
Oh yes its a bug. Upstream sent me a patch. The new ebuild will be soon on sunrise overlay
As kde-misc/kanyremote works for me, mbe you can add einfo about it or USE flag ?
Kanyremote doesnt have a problem. But there was a compilation error when you where trying to configure anyremote with --disable-bluez . Fixed now on sunrise cvs
