I comment line 825 in /usr/include/jack/jack.h and lives compiling fine...
I don't know is it save, but it works :)
I can't write patch. And I don't know is it right solve.

Comment 4 Luca Barbato gentoo-dev 2008-02-10 02:28:26 UTC
seems the right solution (along with bumping jack version in the dep)
Comment 5 Mateusz 2008-02-10 07:57:56 UTC
Can I add a patch somewhere or something like that?
Comment 6 Luca Barbato gentoo-dev 2008-02-10 08:08:01 UTC
sure

See http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/message.php?msg_id=8620.189.70.122.140.1202692935.squirrel%40webmail.xs4all.nl

Looks like you can just replace all 4 occurances of jack_get_time
with lives_jack_get_time.

rename all instances of jack_get_time to lives_jack_get_time in src/

This patch appears to fix the problem.

Added to src_compile():

+ cd "${S}"
+ epatch "${FILESDIR}"/jack_get_time.patch

media-video/lives/lives-0.9.8.6.ebuild

Joe Sapps patch works fine here.
attached a fixed ebuild for the lazy ones :)
Comment 10 Vlastimil Babka (Caster) (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-03-30 11:50:30 UTC
Or just bump to 0.9.8.9 which was released on 10 March, I just renamed the 0.9.8.6 ebuild and emerged fine.
Comment 11 Grégoire Favre 2008-03-31 13:37:19 UTC
The 0.9.8.9 even compil with gcc-4.3.x :-)
Comment 12 Luca Barbato gentoo-dev 2008-03-31 21:38:55 UTC
I'll try to bump lives properly soon
Comment 13 Roger 2008-04-15 19:14:33 UTC
Not to be sarcastic, but we can close this bug with:

# cp /usr/portage/media-video/lives/lives-0.9.8.6.ebuild /usr/portage/media-video/lives/lives-0.9.8.9.ebuild

# ebuild /usr/portage/media-video/lives/lives-0.9.8.9.ebuild digest

Compiles just fine here now as stated within Comment #10. (No more header conflict.)

Think this is called a Version Bump? ;-)
Comment 14 Luca Barbato gentoo-dev 2008-04-16 12:56:02 UTC
got _quite_ sidetracked, sorry.
Comment 15 Dennis Nezic 2008-05-21 01:38:25 UTC
LiVES 0.9.8.12 is out (16 May 2008)!
Comment 16 Ben de Groot (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-06-13 21:17:41 UTC
lives-0.9.8.12 is in portage now, which fixes this issue.
