I use app-portage/eix a lot and I think it would be very beneficial for all 'zsh' Gentoo users, if its syntax and the ebuild searching would work in 'eix' as it does for 'emerge' and 'ebuild' commands. The same, but with lower priority, could be said for 'dispatch-conf'. I propose that the app-shells/zsh-completion's future releases include also completion for 'eix', 'dispatch-conf' and possibly other Portage tools.
zsh-completion already include most of the gentoo tools. If eix is not included it's because it's a quite complicated fonction de write, and I do not have enough time to write it. But I'm very open to contribution. currently zsh-completion contains completion for all portage-utils tools, eselect, most gentoolkit functions, gcc-config, layman and genlop. I'll see what I can do for dispatch-conf.
I just had a look to dispatch-conf as it doesn't take any arguments (according to the man page)
I would very much like to write it myself, but my skills are very limited and time is also an issue with me. If I manage too write anything before you do, I'll happily upload it here! *goes check* Oh, sorry. I knew there was another Portage tool apart from 'eix' that I found was missed in zsh-completion, but forgot what it was. Then I falsely remembered that it was 'dispatch-conf'. My bad :/
Created attachment 144340 [details] new zsh-completion Here is a new zsh completion function featuring eix (thanks kAworu), it also include a small patch to ebuild (adding manifest argument) it also change the homepage and download URL as zsh-completion has now a homepage. This bug can be closed
Emerges and works on amd64, thanks :) I hope it gets commited to Portage soon.
Closing as zsh-completion was bumped to 20080310.
