Description NeoSK 2008-02-07 10:50:21 UTC
net-dns/pdns-recursor-3.1.4 is seemingly having problem to recreate the forked childs and therefore start while using dev-libs/boost-1.34.1-r1 library.
Older versions of dev-libs/boost or even pdns-recursor downgrade might solve the issue. ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="~x86 x86" is stated in /etc/make.conf

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge pdns-recursor
2. /usr/sbin/pdns_recursor
Actual Results:
pdns-recursor is NOT running

Expected Results:
pdns-recursor should be shown in process listing

Pdns-recursor stopped working here at some point in the past; I suspect when I upgraded to glibc-2.7.

We traced it to the stack allocation. The recursor by default allocated 200k for its stack, but now needs more.

The recommended setting is:

stack-size=300000

in /etc/powerdns/recursor.conf if you are seeing the same issue.
