Description Andriy Baranskyy 2008-02-07 09:56:46 UTC
After the upgrade to KDE-4 (both 4.0.0 and 4.0.1), kdm crashes when trying to login as root producing the following segfault message in dmesg: kdm[3577]: segfault at 00000000 eip 08051154 esp bfe2bc50 error 4. After this X restarts and brings me back to the login screen.
Please note that my kdmrc file has AllowRootLogin=true.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
0. Modify kdmrc to allow root logins
1. Install kdm-4.0.0 or kdm-4.0.1
2. Login as root through the GUI screen

Actual Results:
kdm[3577]: segfault at 00000000 eip 08051154 esp bfe2bc50 error 4

Expected Results:
Successful commit as root, which may be useful in some situations

Stick a backtrace and emerge --info here as the bug page told you.

Not sure how to do a backtrace in this case.
Comment 5 Andriy Baranskyy 2008-02-17 01:31:59 UTC
Recompiled kdm-4.0.1 without kerberos and pam use flags and the issue seems to have been fixed.
