this needs to go to someone with the hardware to test... or maybe look @ implementing a different projects version. I don't use CAN.

nope, I haven't been able to get hardware :-(.
passing this back to bug-wrangers in the hopes that somebody else can find hardware to test it.

not ready for 2.6 series it seems and 2.4 is fading out more and more
plus no feedback in 3 years upstream so cant fix for now
