When emerging frecraft-1.18, compilation breaks during linking complaining about certain missing object files. Inspection of the output when emerging indicates that these files are in fact not compiled. I have emerged several times with equal results. When using ebuild to extract the source and then running 'make depend && make' in the work dir, said files are compiled without error. The output right before the exit is as follows: gcc -O2 -march=pentium2 -pipe -fomit-frame-pointer -funroll-loops -falign-functions=4 -pipe -fsigned-char -fomit-frame-pointer -fconserve-space -fexpensive-optimizations -ffast-math -I./src/include -I/usr/X11R6/include -I/usr/local/include -I./src/movie/vp31/include -DUSE_CCL '-DVERSION="1.18"' -DUSE_SDL -DUSE_SDLA -I/usr/include/SDL -D_REENTRANT -DUSE_ZLIB -DWITH_SOUND -DUNIT_ON_MAP -DNEW_AI -DUSE_LIBMODPLUG -DUSE_HP_FOR_XP -DNEW_FOW -DBUILDING_DESTROYED -o tools/startool tools/startool.c -L/usr/X11R6/lib -L/usr/local/lib -lpng -lz -lm ./src/clone/obj/mpq.o gcc -o freecraft src/action/obj/action_attack.o src/action/obj/action_board.o src/action/obj/action_build.o src/action/obj/action_demolish.o [...very many .o files...] src/video/obj/new_X11.o src/video/obj/png.o src/video/obj/sdl.o src/video/obj/sprite.o src/video/obj/svgalib.o src/video/obj/sweepline.o src/video/obj/video.o src/video/obj/wince.o etlib/obj/hash.o etlib/obj/prgname.o -L/usr/X11R6/lib -L/usr/local/lib -lpng -lz -lm -lm -L/usr/lib -Wl,-rpath,/usr/lib -lSDL -lpthread -ldl -lz -lz -lm -I. -O2 -march=pentium2 -pipe -fomit-frame-pointer -funroll-loops -falign-functions=4 -pipe -fsigned-char -fomit-frame-pointer -fconserve-space -fexpensive-optimizations -ffast-math -I./src/include -I/usr/X11R6/include -I/usr/local/include -I./src/movie/vp31/include -DUSE_CCL '-DVERSION="1.18"' -DUSE_SDL -DUSE_SDLA -I/usr/include/SDL -D_REENTRANT -DUSE_ZLIB -DWITH_SOUND -DUNIT_ON_MAP -DNEW_AI -DUSE_LIBMODPLUG -DUSE_HP_FOR_XP -DNEW_FOW -DBUILDING_DESTROYED gcc: src/action/obj/action_attack.o: No such file or directory gcc: src/action/obj/action_board.o: No such file or directory gcc: src/action/obj/action_build.o: No such file or directory gcc: src/action/obj/action_demolish.o: No such file or directory gcc: src/action/obj/action_die.o: No such file or directory gcc: src/action/obj/action_follow.o: No such file or directory gcc: src/action/obj/action_harvest.o: No such file or directory gcc: src/action/obj/action_minegold.o: No such file or directory gcc: src/action/obj/action_move.o: No such file or directory gcc: src/action/obj/action_patrol.o: No such file or directory gcc: src/action/obj/action_repair.o: No such file or directory gcc: src/action/obj/action_research.o: No such file or directory gcc: src/action/obj/action_resource.o: No such file or directory gcc: src/action/obj/action_returngoods.o: No such file or directory gcc: src/action/obj/action_spellcast.o: No such file or directory gcc: src/action/obj/action_stand.o: No such file or directory gcc: src/action/obj/action_still.o: No such file or directory gcc: src/action/obj/action_train.o: No such file or directory gcc: src/action/obj/action_unload.o: No such file or directory gcc: src/action/obj/action_upgradeto.o: No such file or directory gcc: src/action/obj/actions.o: No such file or directory gcc: src/action/obj/command.o: No such file or directory make: *** [freecraft] Error 1 !!! could you please try out 1.18-r1 ?
and if the new one failes please try it without usersandbox and userpriv in FEATURES
I have since I reported this bug changed my system. The bug has proven unreproducable on my new system, and I must therefore regretfully say I cannot provide much more assistance in this matter. freecraft-1.18 compiled nicely with both userpriv and usersandbox. Sorry for the inconvenience. I recomend marking this bug as unreproducable. //Daniel
lets just assume the new one fixed it ;)
