Description Mattheus Happe 2008-02-05 20:17:12 UTC
Hi,
please add the iwlwifi-leds-v2-2.6.24-rc4.diff from the thinkpad-sources, which add wifi led support, so that iwlwifi can controll it like the old ipw driver.
Under http://overlays.gentoo.org/svn/dev/jokey/trunk/sys-kernel/thinkpad-sources/files/2.6.24-r1/iwlwifi-leds-v2-2.6.24-rc4.diff
you can find the patch.

Reproducible: Always

Please review http://dev.gentoo.org/~dsd/genpatches/faq.htm for similar requests...

Jakub is right and thanks for the link, as I hope it helps others to understand our policy.

Our policy is to usually wait until a change has been committed to Linus' git
repo before we backport it to gentoo-sources.

This patch probably won't be accepted as-is, instead an LED abstraction will be improved in mac80211 and things will be controlled that way. Given this is not a bug (it's just a missing feature) I'm going to close this. Rest assured that people are working on the feature and it will appear in upstream kernel releases at some point in the near future.
