There is no support for iwl3945 in genkernel -all with 2.6.24, which would be ok if the ipw3945 drivers worked but they do not. Presumably genkernel -all uses configurations that support most systems so I figure this should be reported (and not elite enough with the kernel to submit a patch, even if a valid bug or misconfiguration)

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Build 2.6.24 kernel
2.Try to emerge ipw3945, fails
3.

Actual Results:  
ipw3945 is known to not work with 2.6.24, and iwl is supposedly the alternative but is not built in by default

Expected Results:  
drivers that worked

So...you just want us to enable the CONFIG_* option for iwl3945 in the default kconfigs? What's the name of the CONFIG_* option?

This is enabled as a module in the default kernel config in 3.4.10.
