# Alexandre Buisse <nattfodd@gentoo.org> (12 Jan 2006) # Masked for testing purposes dev-tex/mpm Over two years is a plenty of time for testing; either this works or it needs to be removed. Thanks.
@Christian: seems from the changelog you've had some interest in this package. Myself I have absolutely no clue what it's good for nor if we really need it. Should it be bumped & unmasked ? I'd prefer this way as "Over two years is a plenty of time for testing" isn't a valid reason for removal imho ;)
It works, but is considered experimental (as it is the start of the MiKTeX port to Linux). I have no feelings about it really, so you can decide what to happen with it as there has been no releases since June 2007.

June 2007 isnt really something old for tex stuff. If you want to bump it once upon a time and leave it masked I'm fine with it.

The original intention was to have something similar to g-cpan (building ebuilds out of CPAN packages), but up to now it did not work. Anyway, today I read an interesting article in TUGBoat (proceedings of TeX User Group) about CTAN and TeXLive. Maybe the scripts from http://tug.org/texlive/pkgupdate.html can make maintenance easier for the dev-tex category.

(In reply to comment #6) > Here is the updated ebuild for mpm Thanks, bumped. I added myself as maintainer and put it out of p.mask. So we won't remove it, yet.
