Hello. When etc-update is run when there are no config files to work upon it gives the following message. $ etc-update Scanning Configuration files... Exiting: No files to work on! An experienced user interprets this correctly. However, on the forums it has been found that newcomers cannot tell whether this means it has done its job and terminated or whether it has given an error especially given that the message ends in exclamation. This is a quick suggestion to make it a little more verbose to make it less open to misinterpretation. $ etc-update Scanning for newly created configurations files ... None found: no action required. System configuration files are up to date. This could also be extended to appear at the end of -5 / -3 processes which result in all config files being replaced to inform the user that all is well afterwards. All configuration files updated. Scanning for newly created configurations files ... None found: no action required. Many thanks.
etc-update will get an overhaul/replacement later. I've tidied up the first message a little bit.
