After upgrading to net-misc/curl-7.17.1 remote editing of remote files (via curlftpfs) in vim is trouble some. on many cases "permission denied" appears, most of time "E200: *ReadPre autocommands made the file unreadable" appears and once upon a time file gets actually loaded. may be it has something to do with http://www.webservertalk.com/archive295-2007-9-1930565.html downgrading to 7.16.4 helped. using vim 6.4. uhh .. to correct : downgrading to curl-7.17.1_pre20071013 helped. 7.16.4 has different bugs.
sorry, I cannot yet add depranges in ebuilds. Does 7.18.0 maybe work ok? Maybe request for that then.
