chainsaw@deep-blue ~ $ qfile /usr/bin/gmsgfmt
sys-devel/gettext (/usr/bin/gmsgfmt)

You should remerge gettext. Also, you should run revdep-rebuild to deal with broken applications as a result of a libcroco upgrade.
If you do not have revdep-rebuild installed on your system, emerge gentoolkit.

This is not a bug in wget.
