I was looking to compile something that required gcc-3.x and figured that I would just eselect-gcc whatever I needed and then switch back. After a bit of hunting, I found that the tool is called gcc-config and basically does the same job as eselect-<whatever> does. So I guess the question is, how come we don't have an eselect-gcc which would be much more consistant with the other slotted package selection systems in gentoo. Reproducible: Always
Bugzilla is not for questions; bugzilla is for bugs. And since eselect-compiler has been one *huge* bug, it was removed.
