Description Ryan Fantus 2008-01-26 22:45:06 UTC
New Intel MacBooks, made after November 2007, are incompatible with Gentoo livecd's, as far as networking. Would it be possible to add the Marvell network drivers to the 2008.0 release? There is another possible solution, building 'SysKonnect Yukon2' into the kernel, as long as it's newer than the 2.6.23-R3. Thanks.

I know I asked for the kernel CONFIG_* option :P

Please look it up and post it on the bug to reduce the work we have to do :)

I'll be more than happy to find the CONFIG_* option in about a week, I don't have access to the MacBook until then, sorry. Not sure which is easier, but on next Friday or Saturday I'll be able to figure it out.

I have this problem with my Samsung R60 laptop. It's equipped with Marvell LAN Adapter. To solve this problem I had to install official driver patches from syskonnect and manually patch my fresh kernel.

Can someone verify if this is fixed with the 2008.0 Beta 1 media?

This bug is fixed in new kernels 2.6.24+

This should be fixed in 2008.0 final.
