Description Voltron Rex 2003-05-10 11:09:26 UTC
Greetings,

I've tried a few times to emerge transcode 0.6.3 and have failed up to now. The
build kept complaining at link time that it couldn't run sed on
/usr/lib/libfontconfig.la. Examining /usr/lib I found that in fact
libfontconfig.la did not exist.

I found another machine, this one with fontconfig-2.2.0-r1 and in /usr/lib lay
libfontconfig.la. On the original workstation I emerged this fontconfig update
and transcode emerged successfully.

Therefore, my bug report is that transcode has a dependency on fontconfig but
the dependency is not recognized by portage.

Reproducible: always when fontconfig is too low (how low? I don't know)
Expected result: transcode to emerge successfully after correctly determining
and fulfilling dependencies.

Hi,
After emerging an update to fontconfig-2.2.0-r1 I lost my fonts. KDE was setup to use
helvetica and now there's a Times-like font all over the desktop. Such a mess I hardly
can see text in console. I'm very angry at such updates :[ I don't know how to get my
fonts back.

Since this bug refers to a transcode version that was removed from portage half a year ago and current ebuilds don't depend on transcode at all, I'll close this as WONTFIX
