The kernel decompression/patch fails at

Checking 994_ipvs-1.0.8 (plain text format)... 1 out of 1 hunk FAILED -- saving
rejects to file net/ipv4/Config.in.rej
can't be applied.  Please modify the patch.

yep, you are correct - the fault is one extra line in the USAGI patch that throws ipvs off.

i'm prepping r5 now and uploading very soon.
would rather go with an r5 update rather than put out a new patch. i'm adding barton support and fixes a few upstream doc issues.

i'll notify you when it is in portage.

fixed in gentoo-sources-2.4.20-r5 which is now out to the mirrors and in portage.
