If I do a stage1 compile with the flags
USE="-gtk -gnome alsa X kde"
and CCFLAGS="-march=athlon-xp -O3 ..."

Glibc crashes during the bootstrap process, I changed the USE flags to default 
values and then it compiles fine ..



Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Follow Gentoo Install CD instructions for Stage 1
2. Change USE flags to ="-gtk -gnome alsa X kde"
3. run bootstrap process.

Actual Results:  
bootstrap process crashed..

Expected Results:  
Compiled a stage 1 system ? =)

please try newer stages ... plenty has changed since then
