Description dt 2008-01-18 18:07:10 UTC
Source installation of ioquake3 (so far I have used quake3-1.34-rc3 and quake3-9999 which --version's to ioq3 1.35). Starts from load using about 420mb of ram, after a while of playing ram goes up until system crash. After playing a map and going back to main menu ram usage stays at it's increased amount (does not free memory from loaded map). Even playing just one map will eventually explode. Using ATI X1700 with x11-drivers/ati-drivers-8.433.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Run quake3
2. Play in singleplayer until it crashes (usually 30-40 minutes)

Updated to the latest ati-drivers (8.452 in portage, 8.01 from ati website) which were supposed to fix memory leak issues. Probably still happens, but now the leak is much slower than before.

So this is rather an fglrx bug rather than a Quake3 bug?

Please update/mark bug accordingly.
Comment 3 dt 2009-07-29 18:06:10 UTC
Yes, it was an fglrx bug. Has been fixed for a while now.
