Description elfo 2003-05-08 09:18:10 UTC
I was on stage2 (i started from stage1) and while doing "emerge system" i had an
error (i can't reproduce it!!) similar to:

dev-tcltk/SOMETHING failed to compile

I'm really new in gentoo world (my first installation) so i don't know what to do.

emerge system broke emerge and ebuild!!!

when I type: "emerge" or "ebuild" or "phyton" or everything that use python I get:

phyton2.2: /lib/libpthread.so.0: version 'GLIBC_2.3.2' not found (required by
python)

what the hell should I do??
(i don't think compiling the whole system withOUT ebuild and or emerge is a good
idea)

thank you

This looks more like a forum question than a bug. You can always just boot back in using your CD and mount your partitions and follow the instructions(skip the bootsrap part), I'm getting feeling that you forgot an env-update?

It sounds like you somehow managed to upgrade to glibc 2.3.2, then downgrade, breaking things.

Not a bug - try the #gentoo IRC channel or the forums for assistance.
