Description Jouni Rinne 2008-01-16 20:45:20 UTC
When I use xine backend - on amarok-1.4.8 - to play Playlists > Radio Streams > Shoutcast Streams, the first stream always plays as it should, but when I switch to another stream, xine seems to hang: It just buffers forever, never plays anything and the whole amarok UI seems to work ve-e-e-ry slowly (processor usage is normal, though). The only ways to get back to normal are either restarting amarok, or switching the engine to helix, and back to xine.

The problem occurs only with xine-lib-1.1.9 and newer, xine-lib-1.1.8 (and earlier) and the helix backend works fine. Also, the problem seems to manifest itself only with streaming media.

I can confirm this issue. Found no solution for it yet.
Comment 3 Karl Ernst Brunk 2008-01-18 17:59:27 UTC
Same sound problem here but mor generally. Im not having Amorak installed. Seeing a DVB-stream means : the first opened stream sounds. Switching makes'em disapear without any messages. Changing to another source like DVD leaves it the same. That means only the first stream is able to play sound.
After restart its again going till first switch of source.

Comment 4 Karl Ernst Brunk 2008-01-19 19:58:37 UTC
In the meantime i tried 1.1.9 / 1.1.9.1 and 1.1.9.1-r1 with my USE-Flags and with the ones en/dis/abled in the ebuild. All the same result : no sound after switching.
1.1.8 still perfectly working.

in xine 1.1.10 changelog there is that:
