Look at http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/devrel/handbook/handbook.xml?part=2&chap=5#doc_chap6 Listing 6.1 and 6.3 are identical, while should be listed only once.
Created attachment 141029 [details, diff] dev-handbook-move.patch Seems that there is just code sniplet from old version which should be removed.
And while we are here, may be it's worths to add this warning to the end of move section: ====================================================== When you move a package foo over an another bar the files don't change. So Portage thinks you have bar installed but the files are from foo. Thus every package depending on bar would have to have their atoms in such a way that doesn't match foo existing versions (e.g. with block). ====================================================== I hope that I understood thread correctly: http://archives.gentoo.org/gentoo-dev/msg_150263.xml
Oh no. Please drop comment #2. I've experimented with blocks a bit and did not found way how to archive that things. As I found better solution I'll fill another bug on that issue.
This is fixed currently.
