target keywords: amd64 hppa ia64 ppc ppc64 sparc x86 These two should go stable together. For rescan-scsi-bus, r1 is a tiny detection fix over r0, because it was bailing out if you only had the newer sysfs support and had disabled the old /proc/scsi stuff (the rest of the app already supported both, and always used the 2.6 interface on new kernels). testing procedures: rescan-scsi-bus: Depending on your host controllers, this might not be safe for your data, so I wouldn't recommend just testing it directly. It does work on an fibre-channel controller I tested, as well as my external SATA array. sg3_utils: I suggest trying either sg_vpd or sg_inq on a disk drive as safe commands. Some of the other stuff can write to disk, or cause a disk to be non-responsive for a while, so take care if you want to run others instead.
