Created attachment 179789 [details, diff] various fixes which got uae-0.8.26-r1 compiling Small, but still slowly and painfully produced patch set addressing various issues in uae-0.8.26-r1 source: - gui_display() stub added to nogui.c to enable compilation with USE="-ui" - several other compilation blocking typos fixed and 8-bit sample stuff commented out in sd-file/sound.c to get it compiling with USE="-alsa -oss -sdl-sound" - commented out 8-bit sample handling in sd-sdl/sound.c as well to enable compilation with USE="sdl-sound -alsa -oss" - getline was renamed to uae_getline as it caused some odd problems (glibc 2.8 issue?)
uae barely compiles on the two amd64 environments I tested on with this patchset applied after all the others. I don't know if it can even run properly without the 8-bit sample stuff, but both sd-file and sdl-sound sound selections were uncompilable as they were in the source, so now it at least compiles. Maybe it works too? Who's an Amiga fan and wants to try this out? :) There even seems to (maybe?) be newer versions out, but the ftp site is down? Debian and Ubuntu claim to have 0.8.28 and the new uae website says version 0.8.29 is latest developer version. Unfortunately, the ftp server won't respond.
No, the ftp server is not down, it's just extremely slow to response... I managed to coax the 0.8.29 sources from the server, and tested them with a modified ebuild (diff enclosed). I haven't really tested uae-0.8.29 thoroughly, but it compiles fine on amd64 & so far has worked all right (at least with USE="X alsa sdl ui -aalib -dga -oss -scsi -sdl-sound -svga"). Because the uae ftp server is soooo very slow, I copied the 0.8.29 sources temporarily to my webserver http://steam.punk.dy.fi/uae-0.8.29.tar.bz2 , for testing and ebuild development purposes. Please DON'T link any ebuilds to it, I'll remove it as soon as the uae-0.8.29 hits portage (soon-ish, please?)

BTW, I think that the "scsi" USE-flag's dependency of 'app-cdr/cdrtools' should be changed to 'virtual/cdrtools'. Or does uae *really* need cdrtools instead of cdrkit?
D**n, it seems that uae scsi support is really dependent on libscg and libschily, which are included with cdrtools but not with cdrkit... Oh well... Please disregard my previous comment.
Uhm Peter can we get something for this or should I kill it? It's two year almost and here it fails with a slightly different problem as well.
Diego, this bug is fixed, I committed 0.8.29 ages ago, just forgot to close this one. If you have issues with the current one please open new bugs. I'll try to get uae back in shape and unmask it again.
Yes, please unmask uae it's now more stable than e-uae.
