I have an asus nforce board that uses the SiI silicon image serial ata controller. Currently the only way i can install Linux on a drive on the SATA controller is using the 1.4rc4 CD and booting the SMP kernel. However if i have a RAID array (0 or 1), the SMP kernels SATA driver does not detect the SATA disks at all. Perhaps we need to add full SATA support in both the SMP and non-SMP kernels on the livecds
This will be done as soon as we have better silicon image driver support.
