Description ArYiX 2008-01-06 15:56:09 UTC
xen-sources must be removed from RDEPEND in ebuild xen-3.1.2

Reproducible: Always

Hmm, and why?

why is not needed, xen is included in kernel 2.6.23 or later with this RDEPEND download and install xen-sources.

i think maybe depending on a virtual or something might work here, instead of xen-sources specifically... but it would need to be a linux kernel above 2.6.22/23 (cant remember which xen domU went mainstream in) or xen-sources otherwise...

I think you are confused about what has been included... This is not a replacement for xen-sources (yet).

<snip>
Part of Xen has been merged. The support included in 2.6.23 will allow the kernel to boot in a paravirtualized environment under the Xen hypervisor. But support for the hypervisor is not included - this is only guest support, no dom0, no suspend/resume, no ballooning. It's based in the paravirt_ops infrastructure.
