Description Chayim I. Kirshen 2003-05-04 23:11:13 UTC
Straight off of sourceforge, here's my ebuild for gnutrition. I would suggest
putting this in gnome-apps, where I've already put it on my local box.

please read the ebuild submission howto and tag your bugs right

i prefer ebuilds as plain text btw, you should mark the mime-type correct.

the deps are way too general, we need versions. there don't need to be slashes in the depend, it is one string. The myconf stuff in src_compile is not used, so should be removed. Are there no docs that should go with the ebuild ?

a few points that would improve the ebuild.

i see this app hasn't been updated since early 2001, i don't think we should support an app unmaintained upstream.

I'll check into the ebuild tagging etc, last time I read the howto (ages) it wasn't there. As for the depends, I'll make them single strings in the future, I was just copying from another ebuild.
As for the app being unmaintained, that's a fair enough stance to take. I wasn't sure what the official stance is for projects like that. I figured that since I wanted it in my tree (if only to get portage to know about it) I wrote an ebuild.
But you can happily ignore this project.

the problem is as soon as a problem crops up we have noone to go to and we can't start maintaining apps ourselves, way too much work.

And your local portdir overlay is the place you want to use for ebuilds you made for your own use, they won't get overwritten by an rsync.
