Description Andreas Bauer 2003-05-04 10:25:56 UTC
gstreamer version 0.6.1-r1 is emerged. However the configure script of gnome-media
can't find it:
checking for   gstreamer-0.6 >= 0.5.2 gstreamer-libs-0.6 >= 0.5.2
libgnomeui-2.0 >= 1.102.0... Package gstreamer-libs-0.6 was not found in the
pkg-config search path.
Perhaps you should add the directory containing `gstreamer-libs-0.6.pc'
to the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable
No package 'gstreamer-libs-0.6' found

do you have gst-plugins ?
Comment 2 Andreas Bauer 2003-05-04 14:15:55 UTC
gts-plugins is emerged (version 0.6.1). I was trying to emerge the gnome ebuild.
Comment 3 foser (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-05-04 21:02:56 UTC
do you have the requested files in /usr/lib/pkgconfig , do me a list of 'ls /usr/lib/pkgconfig/gstreamer-*' . Also attach the config.log of the failing configure .

ls /usr/lib/pkgconfig/gstreamer-* :
/usr/lib/pkgconfig/gstreamer-0.6.pc /usr/lib/pkgconfig/gstreamer-control-0.6.pc

Sorry for adding the config.log four times, but I got errors while attaching a file, and
retried first.

you do have gst-plugins but not the related config files, thats weirds. Can you attach the ouput of 'qpkg -l gst-plugins' ?

Comment 11 foser (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-05-12 12:01:35 UTC
could you just re-emerge gst-plugins ? see if the pkgconfig stuff shows up ? Please also log the build for if it goes wrong.
Comment 12 Andreas Bauer 2003-05-13 14:43:18 UTC
After reemerging gst-plugins it I emerge gnome-media now. But I don't know why it
work now. Thank you for your support
Comment 13 foser (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-05-13 15:02:51 UTC
well, i know why it didn't work : you missed some files. But i don't know how that happened and since it isn't reproducable and working now i'm closing this bug.
