Description Jakob Schiotz 2008-01-03 10:24:49 UTC
With x11-drivers/ati-driver-8.443.1-r1 my laptop displays in 1280x1024 mode. With version 8.443 it correctly uses 1400x1050.

The Xorg.0.log file lists a modeline for 1400x1050 when using version 8.443 but not when using version 8.443.1-r1. I will attach the two log files and my xorg.conf file.

I already tried to use aticonfig --resolution to add a 1400x1050 resolution. The corresponding line is added to the xorg.conf file, but does not work as the driver does not think the mode is available.

Reproducible: Always

Shrug; complain to ATI, we cannot fix this.

Done, ticket #737-1303675: http://support.ati.com/ics/support/ticketview.asp?ticket_id=1303675

I did of course not expect you to fix this problem, but I thought it useful to report it here, in case other people have the same problem. Also, to let the developers know about it before they decide to mark the package stable, and before deciding to remove version 8.443 (which I would like to request is kept).

Happy New Year to you all!
