It would be nice to have raid compiled into the kernel the livecd boots into so that autodetection works... also, mdadm would be a much better tool to include on the livecd than raidtools because they don't rely on a configuration file. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
didn't notice you're using evms... in that case, please have it autoload the md_raid5 module as well...
i will look into mdadm. Known problems were reported when md modules plus evms modules were loaded.
Well you don't load the raid5 evms module by default was one concern. Also, it would be nice to have mdadm for those of us who want to boot with 'noraid' and load the normal md modules since mdadm is far superior to raidtools.
yes. it was overlooked, i just changed the init script to load md_raid5 also
I just succesfully installed gentoo on software raid 1 root fs. This was done with a current mdadm (1.2.0) and scp'd to the livecd's /root/bin/ directory. Please consider this for including in a livecd release candidate
Moving these so we can remove the "Install CD" component from "Gentoo Linux". I apologize to everyone for this spam, but according to the bugzilla developers, this is the only reasonable way to do this.
