rsync server is available and is syncing at the top and bottom of each hour to rsync2.us canonical = gentoo.seren.com. IP = 65.245.115.11 admin = Dan Stephans (dstephans@seren.com) We will also be offering a source mirror as soon as my rsync from purdue completes. Any status on getting this mirror added? Only seeing traffic from my own sources.
Sorry for the delay, we've been working on some DNS issues. I've added 65.245.115.11 to the access list for rsync1.us.gentoo.org. Please update your rsync cron jobs to point to rsync1.us.gentoo.org and post back here when you've done so. We'll monitor the server for a couple days to make sure things are working fine and then add it to the rotation. Also, I'd like to confirm a few things. Is ntp running? What is the upstream connection and What is the max user connection? Thanks.
Our cron'ed rsyncs are now sync'ing against rsync1 beginning with the next update. Time is sync'ed daily via ntp. Upstream max is 3Mbps and I've limited max connections to 10 with a per connection throttle of 50Kbps.
65.245.115.11 is now rsync14.us.gentoo.org. As soon as DNS catches up, you should start seeing some traffic. I've subscribed <dstephans@seren.com> to our gentoo-mirrors mailing list (low volume). This list is used to discuss mirror-related issues. Thanks for supporting Gentoo.
