Beginning from yesterday gimp-trunk depends from gegl (see http://developer.gimp.org/ChangeLog), which is not yet in portage. Reproducible: Always
the only overlay I found for gegl I found at http://my.opera.com/lazy_bum/blog/2007/10/08/mammy-daddy-i-want-roslin - but there is an other issue, see http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=203292
*** Bug 203292 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
yeah and i am not able to emerge gegl-0.0.14 .... i get this make[3]: Entering directory `/home/rommel/gegl/docs/gallery' Making all in data make[4]: Entering directory `/home/rommel/gegl/docs/gallery/data' make[4]: Nothing to be done for `all'. make[4]: Leaving directory `/home/rommel/gegl/docs/gallery/data' make[4]: Entering directory `/home/rommel/gegl/docs/gallery' --[Updating sample compositions]-- ./OpenRaster-00.xml ./OpenRaster-01.xml ./OpenRaster-04.xml ./clones.xml make[5]: *** [clones.png] Error 255 make[4]: *** [pngs] Error 2 make[4]: Leaving directory `/home/rommel/gegl/docs/gallery' make[3]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1 make[3]: Leaving directory `/home/rommel/gegl/docs/gallery' make[2]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1 make[2]: Leaving directory `/home/rommel/gegl/docs' make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1 make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/rommel/gegl' make: *** [all] Error 2 happens with svn too
At the mentioned overlay now a gegl from svn is offered (besides 0.0.14, but since Gimp wants 0.0.15 now its not very useful) so I think this Bug report could be closed? (or will this only happen when an "official" ebuild exists?)
Can't compile GIMP from repository, error: checking for GEGL... no configure: error: Test for GEGL failed. Please get it from http://gegl.org/ I have GEGL-0.0.14 installed.
(In reply to comment #5) In the "duplicate" of this bug I said that in the .configure gimp wanted gegl version >= 0.0.14, now its sure again a higher version gimp wants. I asked for "Should be more detailed.", since there will be more people asking that question. The overlay mentioned above contains since ~2weeks also a svn-build from gegl - thanks to lazy bum. That should help you.
and also *ruby* must be installed for autogen.sh to work pls, if you can update the title for both deps
(In reply to comment #6) > The overlay mentioned above contains since ~2weeks also a svn-build from gegl > - thanks to lazy bum. That should help you. > there's the ebuild of the svn version of gegl available for testing
Gimp (from svn) doesn't need the svn versions of gegl/babl, the most current snapshot releases (0.0.16 and 0.0.20 respectively) work as well.
Maybe now. There were times in which there weren't matching versions of gegl/babl except the ones from svn available.
(In reply to comment #10) > Maybe now. There were times in which there weren't matching versions of > gegl/babl except the ones from svn available. > True, this changed some weeks ago.
those 2 bugs did help me http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=183425 http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=183423
Maybe this should be made "officially" depending on bug #183425
Must be closed now since gegl is available in portage
