I tried monodevelop 18.1? (bug #195925) on i686 and x86_64 systems. I changed directory to /usr/local/portage, untarred mono-addins-0.3.tar.bz2 and did 'emerge -uvD --newuse world'. On i686 mono-addins-0.3, gtksourceview-sharp-0.11 and monodevelop-0.18.1 were installed immediately. On x86_64 systems I had add "dev-dotnet/mono-addins ~* *" to /etc/portage/package.keywords before mono-addins have been accepted. Starting monodevelop-0.18.1 on i686 systems mostly I have not seen any problems, I got only the warning: WARNING [2007-12-24 14:19:17Z]: Inotify watch limit is too low (8192). The bug with the "inotify watches limit" is simple to solve. Just follow the instructions described on "http://www.monodevelop.com/Inotify_Watches_Limit". The other bug on your x86_64 system is caused by mono trying to free an invalid pointer. This error seems to be non-fatal so that you can work with MD - you can ignore it or report it to the mono bug tracker.
Does the same happen with mono-1.2.6-r1 and newest monodevelop from portage?
