A similar problem as seen in binutils, a braindead configure check doesn't handle texinfo minor version >10.

There will be a patch that fixes the problem for me as well as a patch for the ebuild.

This was discovered building cross-spu-elf/newlib-1.15.0  [the 1.16.0_pre breaks an app I'm working on.  Not sure why...]

Forget the patch - it seems that making the emake line
    emake MAKEINFO="makeinfo" || die "emake failed"
is enough.

which is the problem with the newlib-1.16 snapshot?

Looks like 1.16 works fine.
