On the download page used by the ebuild, it doesn't seem to have a new release since 20060323, however a lot of progress have been since, one of the most usefull is the support of group ownership for tun control, allowing to properly manage user access to tun interface.

I've (somehow) updated the ebuild using debian etch source

I've tried to update the ebuild using 20070815 sources from debian, however it doesn't include the last patches from debian (I don't know how to put that in the ebuild)
