Yup. verified here on two seperate boxes on 2-3 seperate build attempts.

results in total build fail.

Similar, but at a different place:

I'm using:

glibc-2.3.1-r4

Trying again with blackdown-jdk-1.4.1.

Comment 4 kde123 2003-05-12 00:16:39 UTC
blackdown-jdk-1.4.1 appears to be the answer. I've gotten several hundred megabytes further (past the point of failure) without any errors.
Comment 5 kde123 2003-05-12 07:14:28 UTC
OK, now I've got the originally reported condition, so this ebuild is completely DOA. Based on my experience, I believe you should update the dependancy to >=blackdown-jdk-1.4.1.
Comment 6 Rob Kruus 2003-05-15 10:21:33 UTC
Creating a link in the /usr/lib/gcc-lib/i686-pc-linux-gnu/3.2.2/ directory seems to work (so far)
usr/lib/gcc-lib/i686-pc-linux-gnu/3.2.2/libstdc++.so.3 -> libstdc++.so.5.0.2

I'll let you know if if actually works (resuming the ebuild compile now)
Comment 7 merwan kashouty 2003-05-26 13:34:32 UTC
i am getting the same error as the original poster but i have blackdown-jdk-1.4.1 installed....
also i get a file exits linking libstdc++.3 to libstdc++.so.5.0.2 so i dont think that this has been
FIXED either...

anyone else still getting this error?
Comment 8 Axxackall 2003-05-27 23:25:34 UTC
same error here.
I use blackdown-jdk-1.4.1
Comment 9 Tim Yamin (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-06-15 08:01:52 UTC
Similar here, also using blackdown-1.4.1 JDK....

This actually seems to be a source code error, but I'm not exactly sure why it's failing here, and not causing global power outages elsewhere...

beta2 should build. As such I don't think there is much point in fixing beta1
Comment 11 Peter Ruskin 2003-06-27 17:22:38 UTC
OK, yes, beta2 does build. Thanks
