A new version was released November 18th, almost 4 years since the previous release. Maybe an update is needed if newer dbs are used in gentoo?

Changes since 1.81.5
    * various compilation fixes
    * support for newer DBs
    * tcl support compiles again

Thanks, now that tcl 8.5 is unmasked I've added this new version of nvi to the tree.
