rsync.namerica.gentoo.org contains a badly out-of-date mirror:  209.189.242.21

metadata/timestamp.chk on the mirror indicates it was last updated from rsync1 on;

    [alex #3] ~ > cat timestamp.chk 
    Tue, 20 Nov 2007 15:16:01 +0000

Obviously that'll lead to folks getting errors and possibly an out-of-date tree.  Perhaps pull it from rotation and get in touch with the mirror admin / owners?
