Description Peter Simons 2003-04-30 09:11:21 UTC
When searching through the ebuild database with "emerge -S", I get lots of error
reports from emerge. Apparently, these packages have either no or a corrput digest:

    app-admin/logrotate-3.6.5
    app-doc/kdelibs-apidocs-3.1-r1
    app-doc/kdelibs-apidocs-3.1.1a

    kde-base/kdebindings-3.0.5b
    kde-base/kdebindings-3.1.1
    kde-base/kdeedu-3.0.5b
    kde-base/kdeedu-3.1.1
    kde-base/kdegames-3.1
    kde-base/kdegames-3.1.1
    kde-base/kdegraphics-3.0.5b
    kde-base/kdegraphics-3.1.1a-r1
    kde-base/kdelibs-3.0.5b

    kde-base/kdetoys-2.2.2
    kde-base/kdetoys-3.1.1
    kde-base/kdeutils-3.1
    kde-base/kdeutils-3.1.1
    media-sound/apollo-1.1.1-r1
    media-video/vlc-0.5.2
    media-video/vlc-0.5.2-r1
    media-video/xawtv-3.85
    net-im/sim-0.7
    net-im/sim-0.8.1
    net-irc/kvirc-2.1.1-r1
    net-irc/unrealircd-3.1.5.1
    net-mail/exim-4.12
    sys-apps/texinfo-4.5
    sys-kernel/hppa-headers-2.4.20_p32
    sys-libs/cracklib-2.7-r6

I have a very recently "synced" portage tree.

So, is this just me or are these packages actually bogus?

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge -S whatever

please post `emerge info`

if its related to Manifest files, just ignore it ;)
Comment 2 Peter Simons 2003-05-01 06:42:58 UTC
Sorry, I'm not sure what "related to Manifest files" means. Anyway, here's the output of emerge info:

as example
media-video/vlc-0.5.2
media-video/vlc-0.5.2-r1

there's no Manifest -> could be ignored
