Description Balint Dobai-Pataky 2007-12-12 16:19:57 UTC
using x11-terms/gnome-terminal-2.18.3 and x11-libs/vte-0.16.10
if i start mc or atop gnome-terminal quits with 'illegal instruction' error message.
i downgraded to x11-libs/vte-0.16.9 and it works again.

Reproducible: Always

does top work in a regular vt ? (I ask because I have strange behaviors with gentoo-sources-2.6.23-r3)
Comment 3 Balint Dobai-Pataky 2007-12-12 17:44:21 UTC
i don't see if it's related.
i reported atop and mc, only on the new vte.
with old vte it wors as expected.
anyways i wouldn't know what strange behaviours would be.

and to answer your question: on 2.6.23-gentoo top of sys-process/procps-3.2.7 on x11-libs/vte-0.16.9 works fine.

does this happen if you set -mtune to athlon64 as well ?
does it happen with newer versions of gnome-terminal or vte ?

i use vte-0.16.13 and gnome-terminal-2.22.1 now, and don't have the issue anymore.
