Description Markus Rothe (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-12-12 13:31:29 UTC
Hello,

I was using reconcilio on my amd64 machine while running into this problem.

reconcilio finds that /usr/games/bin/btanks (from games-action/btanks-0.6.5069) requires these libraries, which are not found:

libbt.so libmrt.so libsdlx.so

all of them are in /usr/games/lib64/btanks. Unfortunately /usr/games/lib64/ is not in /etc/ld.so.conf:

# grep games /etc/ld.so.conf
/usr/games/lib
/usr/games/lib32

There is only /usr/games/lib64 on my system:

# ls /usr/games/lib* -ld
drwxr-x--- 6 root games 71 2007-12-05 12:27 /usr/games/lib64

/etc/env.d/90games has the following two lines:

LDPATH="/usr/games/lib:/usr/games/lib32"
PATH="/usr/games/bin"

I think games.eclass should set LDPATH="/usr/games/lib64".

Comment 2 Markus Rothe (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-12-12 14:31:00 UTC
this is the reason why btanks works even when /usr/games/lib64 is not in ld.so.conf (thanks dleverton):

$ scanelf -r /usr/games/bin/btanks
 TYPE   RPATH FILE
ET_EXEC /usr/games/lib64/btanks /usr/games/bin/btanks

For the record, I will be fixing reconcilio to respect the RPATH header, but I still think /usr/games/lib64 should be in ld.so.conf (and/or /usr/games/lib should be a symlink on multilib amd64 systems).

games.eclass.patch

possible fix
Comment 6 Tristan Heaven (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-09-11 17:03:33 UTC
That'll do for now. It removes the GAMES_LIBDIR override for games_get_libdir but that never worked for dogameslib anyway.

Fixed.
