No idea where did you get the ebuild, but the current one downloads from http://dl.google.com/earth/client/current/GoogleEarthLinux.bin and works perfectly fine. http://sources.gentoo.org/viewcvs.py/gentoo-x86/x11-misc/googleearth/googleearth-4.2.198.2451.ebuild?rev=1.2&view=markup
