media-tv/freevo-1.7.4 looks for pyXML which is installed as dev-python/pyxml-0.8.4-r1 and throw error message:
checking for xml.utils.qp_xml... not found
please download it from http://pyxml.sourceforge.net/ and install it

Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge freevo

Actual Results:

hum, pyxml-0.8.4-r1 here has installed the file:  /usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/_xmlplus/utils/qp_xml.py

Do this file is installed there if you do an:
emerge -1 pyxml

???

yes, that seems to fix it

The real resolution is to run python-updater
