sys-libs/glibc-2.7 fails the following tests: iconvdata/tst-tables, math/test-double, io/ftwtest, crypt/sha256c-test, crypt/sha512c-test, nptl/tst-mutexpi9, nptl/tst-cond16, nptl/tst-eintr5, rt/tst-timer3.

It is somewhat better with sys-libs/glibc-2.7-r1 - there are only 4 tests failing: iconvdata/tst-tables, math/test-double, io/ftwtest and crypt/sha512c-test.

I have similar results under ~amd64.

Seems fine on amd64/x86 with glibc-2.9.  If it fails for you, open a new bug for the specific failure.
