Description Artur Wosztyl 2007-12-02 18:48:25 UTC
Hi,
In my system, cupsd couldn't print :) After some hours of searching I found out, that the problem is in permissions. lp can't print because it isn't in plugdev group.
I don't really sure that this is a baselayout bug. I compared me results of ls, with my friend who have this same printer and baselayout-1. We have this same ~x86 ;).

Is Adding lp to plugdev group a solution, or only a workaround ? :P

Reproducible: Always

Ok, it's not a solution, it's not working. :)
Hmm...
$ id lp
uid=4(lp) gid=7(lp) grupy=7(lp),441(plugdev)

$ ls -l /dev/usb/lp0
crw-rw---- 1 root plugdev 180, 0 gru  2 20:18 /dev/usb/lp0

and... it's not working

# chmod a+rw /dev/usb/lp0
after this it's started working.

So, it's very funny :)
Can anyone help me? Someone?

I'm sorry,
This is not a baselayout bug....
In /etc/udev/rules.d/70-libgphoto2.rules I don't have exactly rule about my printer, but udev with these rules give /dev/sub/lp0 plugdev grup...
Without these  rules it works...
Sorry Once again...
